Bang & Olufsen, a brand renowned for bringing a big, fat smile on the faces of most audiophiles, has just announced the introduction of the BeoVision 12-65 3D-enabled HDTV with integrated center channel and 7.1 surround sound.

The BeoVision 12 was previewed by the company earlier this year during the CES fair and at its heart there stands an ultra slim NeoPDP plasma panel, which is installed inside a stylish polished aluminum case.

According to Bang & Olufsen, the NeoPDP panel used in the 12-65 includes new phosphors with a very short retention time, which allow for an improved 3D performance and better motion in a 2D viewing situation.

Furthermore, the BeoVision 12-65 also comes with Automatic Color Management to compensate for the effects of aging that is common for the plasma technology.

The integrated center speaker is placed below the screen and consists of five custom-made speaker units covered by a soft curved natural anodized aluminum grill.

These are powered by a series of amplifiers based on Bang & Olufsen's patented ICEpower technology which drive four 80 Watt channels for midrange sounds and single 40 Watt channel for treble.

"The arrival of the BeoVision 12 solidifies our commitment to the premium segment of wide-screen home cinema solutions," states Zean Nielsen, president of Bang & Olufsen America, Inc.

"Furthermore, it strengthens our 3D large screen TV portfolio and complements our home integration and personalized installation services," concluded the company’s rep.

BeoVision 12 is sold exclusively through authorized Bang & Olufsen dealers and will start to arrive in the company’s US showrooms in March 2012.

The recommended price for the BeoVision 12 HDTV is set at $11,350 (8,463 EUR), while when combined with the BeoSystem 3 this will retail for $19,749 (about 14,726 EUR).
