Bamboo can make great material for mobile phones

A patent for an environmentally friendly mobile has been recently released. The innovation lies in
the housing that encloses the main body, thereby sterilizing it.

The concept was patented in June 2006 and includes features that are specific to a regular mobile phone. Probably even more, if you take into account the fact that this gadget supports Internet browsing, wireless 3G communication, infrared and Bluetooth transmission. Moreover, this phone model plays MP3s and also comes equipped with a camera that can go from 0.3 to 8 megapixels.

Still, these are not the features that make this phone special or help it differentiate from others. This comes from the more natural functions that make it environmentally friendly. It's about the sterilizing, deodorizing, antifouling and self-cleaning capabilities that it has.

The bamboo coating surface contains nanoparticles that are meant to keep it clean and prevent germs to stick to it. These particles will be of titanium, dioxide, silver and zinc dioxide, which make the perfect binding between high technology and natural materials. Even more, choosing the bamboo as a material for making this case brings the phone well onto the natural side that is concerned about the environment. The bamboo will be pre-treated with gamma-rays that keep bacteria and potential contamination away for a longer time.

Although wanting to keep your phone squeaky clean and germ free may seem a bit exaggerated, this invention might find its users, probably among those obsessed with cleanness.
