Steve Ballmer said in early September that Windows 8 represents the most important change in the technology industry since Windows 95 and analysts believe that Microsoft’s CEO said nothing but the truth.

Steve Kleynhans, an analyst for technology research firm Gartner, explained that Windows 8 comprises so many changes that it’ll definitely change the way you work on a computer. In a good way, that is.

“This is definitely the biggest change in the user experience of Windows since Windows 95,” he stated according to MercuryNews.

Mike Cherry, an analyst with Directions on Microsoft, added that this major overhaul mostly comes down to the interface. "It takes away things that have been in Windows almost since the beginning,” he said.
