Bayern player and German captain Michael Ballack has almost agreed on a contract with Chelsea about a move to London. At least that's what his agent Michael Becker was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
Being accused many times in the past by Uli Hoeness that his only interest at Munich is nothing but money, Ballack cannot take it anymore. His agent said that Bayern treated Ballack with no respect at all when discussing a future collaboration. This seems to be the main reason why Michael wants to hear
nothing about Bayern Munich in the near future.
Becker accused Uli Hoeness of lack of respect and said that the comment about Ballack`s interest in money only has no foundation.
"Money is not the issue in the price category that Michael is in. He will be making a decision based on sporting considerations. We are in serious negotiations with Chelsea in London," said Becker when questioned.
The midfielders's contract with Bayern Munich runs out at the end of the season. The 29-year-old is believed to have rejected a reported offer of 36 million euros to sign a new deal with the German champions. Hoeness` declarations, though, made him change his mind about staying in Bavaria.
When claiming he was trying to get a good transfer in England because he wanted to learn a new language, Uli Hoeness told Kicker newspaper on Monday 'It was always clear that Michael was not interested in learning a new language or a new culture but rather a new currency."
Both Chelsea and Bayern Munich are very likely to win domestic championships this season. Both teams had an early elimination from UEFA Champions League, facing tough competitors like Barcelona or AC Milan.
Ballack`s future contract al Chelsea is reported to be around the sum of 6 million euros.
