Florian Mayer's return shot went straight in the Australian ball boy's face

During this year's Australian Open competition, German player Florian Mayer's attempt to return David Ferrer's ball ended up in a kid's face. Despite the painful looking scene, this Australian ball boy acts like nothing happened, enduring his sorrow with admirable stoicism

He proves to be tougher than expected as he takes the hit and then immediately goes back to his stance like nothing ever happened.

It seems that at the Australian Grand Slam, the occasional ball flying straight in one's face is just an occupational hazard, and a risk every open ball boy is willing to take.

The commentary notes “He says he's OK – Aussie ball kids are tougher than that,” just the thought of standing on the same field with some of the world's most famous players makes the strongest pain inflicted by a tennis ball go away.
