The development team at Beamdog working on the Enhanced Edition re-release of Baldur’s Gate 2 says that it has already created more than 350,000 extra words of content for the role-playing game that is expected to appear before the end of the year.

Trent Oster, the leader of the development team, is quoted by Gamesonnet as saying that, “We’re hard at work on BG2:EE and it is going well. Phil (our design lead) mentioned to me there is over 350,000 words of new content.”

The new content will be weaved through the quests from Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal that gamers are already familiar with.

The new version of Baldur’s Gate2 will include engine upgrades and the Beamdog team will also probably include a few new characters and quests.

If the game is successful, the team might create a full sequel for the classic party-based series.
