14 DAY TRIAL // Even Santa can go bad when he sees a beautiful elf around, Herbert Jones being proof of that after being arrested for pinching a woman's bum at work.
The 62-year-old Santa Claus was working in a shopping center's winter wonderland when he could not refrain himself from pinching an elf coworker's buttocks. The teenage girls harassed by Santa went to the police and pressed charges against her misbehaved coworker.
Herbert Jones and the 18-year-old girl were working for a company that provided “Santa Photographic services for the holiday season.” When the incident happened, the young girl dressed as an elf was taking photographs and passing by Santa's chair “at which point he reached up and pinched her buttocks,” according to DailyStar.
The teenager went to her manager to report the incident, but the manager only sent her back to talk to the misbehaved Santa. When the girl met with Jones, the 62-year-old began screaming at her saying that he would never do such a thing.
Luckily, one of her coworkers saw the incident and told the police that the teenage girl was not the liar here, but that Santa was the one with an attitude problem.
Besides the pinching, Herbert was also making a move on the girl prior to the incident. The teenager told the police that Jones once told her “I wish you were a few years older and I was younger.”
When directly asked by the police about the incident, Santa said he was seated in his chair when the girl “walked by and brushed her behind against his hand,” and that when he talked to her before the incident the elf took out of context everything he said.
Santa Jones was accused of indecent assault and battery and arrested, having the possibility of a $700 (€515) bail. He may be out of jail by Christmas Eve but he is forbidden from wearing his costume for this holiday season.
