Backyard Wrestling is a series of wrestling games aimed at young people, released for the Xbox and for the PlayStation 2 in 2003. It was developed by Paradox Development, while the publishers of the series are Eidos.

Backyard Wrestling is also a term used for executing moves as seen on television or in live shows while not being trained to perform them. Professional wrestlers are highly prepared for their stunts, not to mention the kind of help they receive from props and cinematic angles, from which the average person does not benefit. There's an ongoing debate on whether practicing wrestling-like moves outside the official sporting venue is a bad thing or not. However, do not try to imitate anything you see in this game.

Backyard Wrestling offers a rather humorous take on the whole wrestling frenzy that is sweeping the world. All the wrestlers in the game are kids. You can choose one of the already existing characters or you can create your own wrestler so that you can then pit them against already established names.

Because the backdrop of the wrestling game is a backyard, as suggested by the title, there are a lot of things different from professional wrestling. The moves are even more outrageous than in real fights and physics much more forgiving. Also, everything within the game world can be used to hit the adversary or as props for even more weird fighting moves. Do not try any of these in real life!

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Mansion: Get on stage

You should go to the speaker and keep running until you finally climb it. Go to the silver pole and then press Up. You will start to climb until you get to the top.

Mansion: Set table on fire

Go to the table with the gas can. Pick it up. You will soak the table with gas and light it automatically. .

Mansion: Shock your opponent

Irish Whip you opponent into the big speaker. It will break and then shock your opponent. This works with both of them.

Meatlocker: Put your opponent into fan

Irish Whip your opponent into the fan and the bars will fall off. You can now whip your opponent into it and knock them down while getting blood over the fan wheels.

Truckstop: Blow up gas tanks

Irish Whip your opponent into the gas tanks that is the closest to the 18 wheeler. They will shoot up into the sky and you can blow up both of them.
