Clonezilla Live 2.2.3-19, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, has been released and is now available for download.

The Clonezilla team launched a new development version for its Linux distro and the devs have just made a few small updates for a couple of packages. The Debian base is also a little newer, but not by much.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository, as of June 9, 2014,” reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, the Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.14.5-1, Syslinux has been updated to version 6.03-pre13, and clonezilla is now at version 3.10.21-drbl1.

Clonezilla Live is a Linux distribution that does only one thing: bare metal backup and recovery. It's very similar to other, older pieces of cloning software, such as True Image or Norton Ghost.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Clonezilla Live 2.2.3-19 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
