Network Security Suite

BackTrack 1.0 Final has been released yesterday by the Remote-Exploit Team. BackTrack is a Slackware and Slax-based Live CD with a collection of security and forensics tools.

This version features KDE 3.5.0 and is powered by a 2.6.15.6 Linux kernel.

BackTrack distribution was created by merging Auditor Security Linux with WHAX (formerly Whoppix).

Combining the best features from both distributions, and paying special attention to small details, this is probably the best version of either distribution to ever come out.

Based on SLAX (Slackware), BackTrack provides user modularity. This means the distribution can be easily customized by the user to include personal scripts, additional tools, different kernels, etc.

Let's see what tools BackTrack provides for network security:

■ Enumeration Tools ■ Exploit Archives ■ Scanners ■ Passwords Attacks ■ Fuzzers ■ Spoofing ■ Sniffers ■ Wireless Tools ■ BlueTooth Tools ■ Cisco Tools ■ Database Tools ■ BackTrack Services

BackTrack Live CD also has an installer if you decide that you must have this distro installed in your computer, and I have to say that it will be a very good choice.
