Gia Allemand, the swimsuit model whom fans of ABC’s “Bachelor” will surely remember as one of the finalists on the 14th season, has been hospitalized. Exact details on her condition are scarce, but she’s believed to be fighting for her life.

The 29-year-old model and reality star is said to be in the ICU on life support, in critical condition, OMG Yahoo! reports.

“The swimsuit model, who was eliminated second-to-last in the 14th season of the show in 2010, was taken to University hospital in New Orleans following a ‘serious emergency medical event,’ according to a statement from ABC,” the e-zine writes.

“Although there's no official word yet on the severity of her condition, Melinda Farina, a friend of Allemand tweeted late Tuesday that the model was ‘on life support w little pulse and barely breathing... cause unknown’,” the report further notes.

Other friends of Allemand are equally in the dark, judging by their recent tweets on the topic. While all of them send prayers and get-well wishes her way, none is able to say what exactly is wrong with Gia.

“Since Jake jilted her for Vienna Girardi, the 29-year-old Allemand has participated in two seasons of the ‘Bachelor Pad’ and, finally, found love with Ryan Anderson, 25, who plays for the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans. Anderson, as well as Allemand's mother, are by her side,” OMG further writes.

The family has issued a statement to ask for “privacy at this time,” also through ABC, refusing to offer more details.

As far as the press knows, Gia doesn’t have any history with drug or alcohol abuse. Neither is she known to have a medical history that would explain this recent hospitalization.

Keep an eye on this space for details, for a statement is bound to follow.
