The tiger cubs are merely 4 weeks old, don't stray far from their mother

5-year-old Kirana and 6-year-old Fabi must be some of the happiest and proudest parents in the world.

It was only a few days ago when their 4-week-old offspring first stepped out of their den, and visitors to the Chester Zoo seem unable to get enough of looking at their pretty faces. Sources say the Sumatran tiger cubs were born at this animal sanctuary in England on June 2. Nobody knows which is a boy and which is a girl, and none of them has a name. At least for now.

But then again, who cares about such trivialities? They're utterly adorable, and that's the only thing that matters.

Well, that and the fact that their birth brings new hope for the survival of the species.

“It's believed that only 300-400 Sumatran tigers are left in the wild so these births are not only a great achievement for Kirana and everyone here at the zoo but also really important news for the future of this species.

“'It's a rare boost to a critically endangered animal and both cubs seem to be doing fantastically well,” zoo employee Tom Rowlands says in a statement.
