This past Friday, a baby polar bear named Luna got the chance to experience first-hand what it feels like to be at the center of attention.

Long story short: this 3-month-old bundle of fur finally made her public debut at the Buffalo Zoo in upstate New York.

Sources report that “Luna” is merely a nickname, and that soon enough a proper name for this bear cub will be chosen with the help of a naming contest launched on Facebook.

The people working at the Buffalo Zoo hope that their latest fundraising campaign, i.e. “Our Bears Belong in Buffalo,” will help them raise sufficient money so as to be able to build a permanent home for this polar bear cub.

“We're hoping to keep her here, but that can only happen if we complete the campaign on time,” explained Zoo President Donna Hernandez.

Apparently, the zoo plan to build a so-called Arctic Edge exhibit, but need about $4 million (roughly €3.06 million) in order to do so.
