She confirms they’re trying, believes will be a mom by 29

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are a long way from how insanely famous they were a few years back, but they’re still trying to make a career out of selling private details about their personal life. With an upcoming stint on Marriage Boot Camp, the Celebrity issue, Heidi is now doing her best to drive up interest in the series.

Heidi Montag is going to have a baby… in about a year or so, the reality star confirms for Life & Style magazine. This is probably not the baby news you were expecting, but it is what it is: Heidi confirmed for a celebrity publication that she and Spencer were trying.

A baby is on the way

“Spencer promised me a baby by 29. Last year, while we filmed an E! special, he told me, ‘I don’t want to have kids,’ and I started crying. I told him I couldn’t bear the thought of never becoming a mom. So when he saw how important it was to me, he had a change of heart!” Heidi tells the publication.

The star, who rose to fame on MTV’s The Hills, is now 28, so that must mean that she and Spencer are already trying for the baby.

In fact, the photo she posted on Instagram earlier this year should have been the best clue into that: it showed an ovulation kit and came with thanks from Heidi and the plea to “not tell Spencer.” Useless to note, but Spencer is also on social media and he follows his wife on both Twitter and Instagram, so of course he knew what she was posting.

But the bottom line is that Heidi and Spencer, one of the most vilified and annoying celebrity reality TV couples, who practically wrote the book on how to build a career on zero talent and no shame, are ready to have a baby.

Nothing is what it seems

There is one important aspect to consider before getting too excited about Heidi’s baby news, such as is it. In January, she and Spencer are coming back to reality television, on WEtv, with the aforementioned stint on Marriage Boot Camp.

As far as the world knows, Heidi and Spencer don’t have any kind of marital issues, unless she’s thinking again of filing for divorce as a means to get media attention. She’s done it before, and faced with evidence that proved it, she was forced to admit that she had lied just so she could get extra coverage and on-air time.

They already said that the reason they were doing the show was so they could talk about the possibility of expanding their family in a more serious environment than the one provided by their home. So what Heidi is doing isn’t exactly confirming any baby plans but rather drawing attention to the fact that she and Spencer are going to be on TV in January.

Making a fortune out of oversharing and then blowing it away

The reason Heidi and Spencer are so universally hated is that they didn’t know how to dose their oversharing tendency to avoid overkill. They were huge at one point (almost as huge as Kim Kardashian is right now, to give you an idea) but they bared so much of their life over such a short span that they ran out of things to do and say to keep themselves relevant.

In almost no time, they were resorting to dirty tricks to keep their fans’ attention engaged, like the aforementioned divorce stunt or getting rumors started about Spencer’s “addiction” to crystals.

Then, in a most shocking and worrying move, Heidi went and got herself turned into a real life Barbie doll, by undergoing no less than 10 different surgical interventions in just one day. That was the tipping point, the moment when the world lost nearly all interest in them.

The two amassed quite a fortune during their heyday, but they spent all of it recklessly: on Heidi’s ill-fated music career, on her surgical work, on Spencer’s fleet of cars and gun collection, etc. Heidi and Spencer are the perfect example of how anyone in the world (and America in particular) can become worldwide famous for nothing – and how steep the fall is once those 15 minutes are up.

@kithoover I found this in the store! Thank you for the advice! Shhhh don't tell @spencerpratt lol! 😝🎶‼️ A photo posted by heidipratt (@heidipratt) on Nov 11, 2014 at 5:04pm PST
