12-year-old Savannah, a giraffe living at Whipsnade Zoo in England, is the proud mom of a baby girl which now measures an impressive 6 feet (1.83 meters) in height.

The baby reticulated giraffe was born at this facility about a month ago, on November 13. Keepers say that it took its first steps shortly after birth, and that it only took it a few minutes to figure out what's what and start nursing.

“It’s Savannah’s third calf and she’s taken motherhood all in her rather long stride – the new arrival is settling in well, and is already showing signs of mum’s calm nature as well as dad’s [a reticulated giraffe named Uno] inquisitiveness,” keeper Cassie Taylor says, as cited by Zoo Borns.

The baby giraffe hasn't been named yet, and it hasn't even had the chance to meet the rest of the herd.

Its caretakers promise that, in the weeks to come, they will introduce it to the other giraffes living at Whipsnade Zoo, and that, once its confidence grows, they will also schedule its public debut.
