Registrations for Microsoft’s BUILD conference, which will take place between April 2 – 4, will officially begin today at 9am PST, which means that this is probably the only chance to get to witness the debut of Windows 8.1 Update 1 in person.

A ticket for the event costs $2095 (€1530), which is indeed a bit too expensive, but it’s clearly worth every cent given the fact that Microsoft is also expected to share new information regarding the upcoming Windows 9.

“Developers can create new experiences to reach hundreds of millions of devices on people’s desks, in their pockets and in their living rooms. Customers are only a click away. Join us at Build for an unprecedented learning opportunity for developers building on the Microsoft platform,” Microsoft says.

Just like last year’s event, BUILD 2014 will take place in San Francisco, California, at the Moscone Center.
