That's definitely the million dollar question these days. No, actually that was meant to be entirely metaphorical, seeing how even a five-year-old kid who can read and has a computer or a TV at home can probably come up with a pretty comprehensive list of why the world's favorite popwreck has finally lost her kids to her ex hubby K-Fed. Who, by the way, has probably been rolling on the floor laughing ever since news came out that he was granted full physical custody of his boys. Which, in addition to a whole load of media attention, probably also equals a heavily increased paycheck for him. Yes, he must be pretty happy right now.
K-Fed gets to keep the kids until further notice. And Brit Brit, it seems, gets a renewed free pass to the all-fun-all-night-all-go-no-quit Hollywood dream life she probably thinks she's been having ever since she became a star. I mean, now the kids are safe with K-Fed, there won't be any annoying headlines such as "Britney Drunk at 4 In the Morning - Who's Looking After the Kids?"
Back to the original question. Why did Brit lose custody? What did she do wrong? Well, it would seem that she did pretty much everything wrong - or better said, she did none of the things that she was asked to do. Last week, a judge gave her a very comprehensive list of things that had to be put into practice, if she were to toe the tine and keep joint custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. But she stubbornly refused to do any of the things on the list. In fact, she seemed determined to prove to the judge that she can defy his recommendations and act as if she lives somewhere in a universe where rules and regulations do not apply. We've seen the outcome.
Brit was supposed to:
1. meet with a drug counselor -
never did it.
2. submit to drug testing - how could she have done it, seeing that on the very evening of the day when the judge ordered her to take random drug tests twice a week she hit the clubs - only to be photographed drinking a Margarita in plain view of the paparazzi the next day.
3. enroll in parenting classes -
never did it.
4. sign the judge's order -
never did it.
5. not drive (with her children in the car) unless in possession of a valid California driver's license - she drove her kids to lunch on Sunday, again, acting as if she wanted to be caught in the act.
She is definitely either the most irresponsible person in the world for not giving a damn about the law and thinking she can somehow avoid day to day things that most people on this planet find normal, or she's the most irresponsible person in the world for doing it all on purpose and planning for someone else to look after the boys. Maybe she thinks she's too young to be a mother - or maybe she doesn't have what it takes to be a great mother. But these things can be learned - you learn to be a parent. What's sad is that she is not even trying.
