BREAKING: Nicole Richie Busted for DUI

Sources close to the skinny socialite who has been in the newspapers more than anyone else for the severe weight problem she had been struggling with, just told TMZ that she was arrested this morning (on Monday), after a couple of concerned drivers called 911 when they saw her SUV going up the wrong lane.

Apparently, the arrest took place this morning, at about 4.50 A.M. Nicole was taken to the police station but was later released at around 7.15 A.M. When the news agency contacted the police for more information, they refused to say whether any charges were filed against the petite reality star or not. However, they did mention that the police papers (the booking sheet, actually) said that she weighs an amazing 85 lbs, while she is 5'1''.

The car driven by Nicole was going up the wrong lane on the 134 freeway in Burbank and the police were instantly alerted by two concerned motorcyclists. When the officers arrived at the scene, Nicole had already pulled over and was talking on her cell phone. She was alone.

The Breathalyzer indicated that Miss Richie had not ingested any alcohol, although she did display sings of intoxication. When the police officers asked her what she was on, Nicole admitted to taking Vicodin and having smoked pot.

This is not the first time that Richie has a brush-off with the law: in 2003, she had to plead guilty to heroin possession but the charges were dismissed after she completed the terms of her probation. Nicole's publicist was not immediately available for comment on the arrest. We will certainly keep you posted with more information.
