The Romanian Development Bank (BRD) - Groupe Societe Generale and the Romanian Tennis Federation (FRT) on Wednesday concluded a new sponsorship contract in addition to the partnership of the two institutions, a release sent by the bank to softpedia.com reports.
BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, the official partner of the Romanian Tennis Federation since 2000, will sponsor it in 2006 with 100,000 euros. The sum will cover part of the expenditures made with the organization
of national and international tournaments, which are scheduled on the Federation's agenda for this year.
Since 2000 BRD - Groupe Societe Generale has supported FRT's activity and Romanian tennis, in general, by over 600,000 euros.
"All this time we shared many important moments for tennis in Romania, but the most important of all is that we have built a relationship based on trust. Over all these years, Romania has consolidated its position in the international tennis elite and it has also begun the reconstruction from the bottom, the place where the talents start to form themselves. The quarter final between Romania and Croatia in the Davis Cup is a performance which assures us that the Romanian tennis is on the right track," BRD president Patrick Gelin said.
"We are content that BRD decided to associate with Romanian tennis. BRD is an important partner and I am sure that we will have a durable and successful relationship," FRT president Ilie Nastase said.
BRD - Groupe Societe Generale is a constant supporter of the Romanian sports, backing the Romanian rugby too and organizing the latest five Romanian Cycling Tours.
