The hacker nicknamed PabloEscobar, allegedly part of the Anonymous community, who recently breached the site of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) as a protest against abortion, confessed everything to a Westminster Magistrate's Court.

Sophos’ Graham Cluley reports that 27-year-old James Jeffery admitted to stealing the personal details of around 10,000 women, but decided not to publish the data because he felt it would be wrong.

Jeffrey decided to target the site after two of his acquaintances terminated their pregnancies.

“You can imagine how traumatic it must have been for women who had made the difficult decision to go ahead with an abortion to hear that their decision might be made public knowledge by a hacker. Therefore, it was a relief to hear that the day after the hack, police had made an arrest,” Cluley said.

The suspect was refused bail and he currently awaits his sentence.
