Bitstream Inc. announced today an agreement with KC Mobile, a Korean-based manufacturer and provider of handsets for the Chinese market, according to which the company's BOLT browser will become the default solution on the handset vendor's devices. According to the agreement, BOLT will be included in phones delivered to the market all around the world, including markets like China, Europe, Russia, South America, and Asia.

Now, manufacturers are weighing in with the first wave of agreements to put BOLT on devices around the world.”

The new agreement is the third deal Bitstream signs for the inclusion of BOLT as the default browser on a company's handsets. According to the company, this shows that its application enjoys increasing popularity among users, and also the fact that manufacturers believe that BOLT can provide a great browsing experience to users.

The BOLT browser was developed so as to fit a wide range of devices, its developers note. It can be included in feature phones, but also in more advanced handsets like BlackBerry smarpthones. Moreover, the solution has registered a great increase in usage each month (50 percent) since it was first introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last year. According to Bitstream, more than 3.4 million Bolt accounts have been created since last year, and the solution delivers over 2.8 million pages each day.

“KC Mobile works to build the best technology into our devices; that’s why we choose the Bolt mobile browser,” said Jacky Lee, director, KC Mobile. “The BOLT browser enables KC Mobile to provide users of our devices with the most fully-featured mobile browser, and delivers fast access to all that the Web has to offer: social networking, shopping, streaming videos and much more. Having the BOLT browser as the default mobile browser on our devices makes our product much more compelling to people all over the world.”
