GetJar, one of the largest app stores in the world, has just announced a new partnership with Bitstream Inc., the development team behind the already popular BOLT mobile browser. According to the company, the partnership would offer it the possibility to bring it's entire library of 70,000+ free mobile applications to BOLT's users. The access to the portal would be offered via a GetJar branded apps store link on the favs page in the browser.

“It's exciting to see Web browsing technology meeting the overwhelming demand for apps. App Catalogue Express is designed to make it quick and easy for our partners to seamlessly launch a pre-populated app store across all major devices and platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, among others.”

The new agreement is expected to enable BOLT's users to benefit from the growing catalog of mobile applications ranging from games, social networking, sports, entertainment and productivity solutions GetJar has put in place. According to GetJar, it charges devs for premium placement in their catalog, while the revenue would be split between the company and Bitstream when apps are being downloaded via BOLT.

Among the applications that are easily downloadable via the BOLT browser, we can count Facebook Mobile, Yahoo!, Shazam, and CNN, and others more. The mobile browser comes with support for multiple simultaneous downloads, enabling users to benefit from expanded functionality from their mobile devices. It should also be noted that the BOLT browser is present in GetJar's Top 10 overall application downloads.

“Fundamentally, BOLT is about getting the most utility possible from your mobile phone, a mission we share with GetJar,” said Anna Magliocco-Chagnon, CEO of Bitstream. “This agreement also brings an important new revenue opportunity for BOLT as any revenue generated through the download of sponsored premium applications is split between the two companies. We partnered with GetJar because are they are the most experienced, 'open' application catalog working across multiple platforms such as Java ME, BlackBerry OS, Symbian - any device and platform used by our customers.”
