Bitstream Inc. and Visual Fan, Ltd. have announced today the signing of a licensing distribution rights agreement according to which BOLT will come preloaded on Visual Fan's handsets. The mobile browser will become available as the default solution on the newest Allview branded handhelds, the two companies revealed. In case some of you might not know, Allview is a brand of handsets and GPS navigation devices in Romania, and it currently has seven models of dual SIM GSM phones on the market.

“As an expanding company in Europe’s fastest growing mobile market it is crucial that we continue to differentiate Allview from competing brands, and having the best mobile browser helps set Allview apart,” said Adrian Visan, development manager at Visual Fan. “We put various mobile browsers through significant testing and found that BOLT not only ran well on all of our handsets, but also offered the fastest page load speeds with the highest quality rendering. Our collaboration with Bitstream is sure to add utility and value to Allview phones.”

BOLT will come for the first time on an Allview handsets on the F1 X-perience, a device that sports dual SIM, dual standby capabilities, a touchscreen display and GSM connectivity options. In addition, the gadget comes with a customizable widget menu, TV and FM radio tuners, accelerometer, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth capabilities, and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper. BOLT will not be the only software solution pre-loaded on the handset, but the same will apply to the Ebuddy instant messaging application, which offers access to services like Yahoo, MSN, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ and AIM.

“Bitstream has been working on perfecting our mobile browsing technology for years, culminating in the beta test release of BOLT last February at Mobile World Congress,” said Anna Chagnon, president and CEO of Bitstream. “Downloaded more than 2 million times in 8 months, we continued to develop important features important to end users. The result is that BOLT has evolved into the most fully-featured mobile browser, and an easy addition for handset manufacturers looking to offer their users the best possible Web experience.”
