Bitstream Inc. announced today the release of a new version of its mobile browser, namely BOLT 1.6. According to the company, the browser comes as a fully featured solution for all mobile phone users, and can be used on devices of all types. Not only that the BOLD 1.6 browser is capable of delivering leading data compression ratio, but it also offers the best website rendering, being able to render web pages as they are seen on a computer.

BOLT 1.6 outscores competing mobile browsers earning a perfect 100 percent on the Web Standards Project’s Acid3 test. The Acid3 test, created to help browser vendors ensure proper support for Web standards in their products, tests Web 2.0 dynamic Web applications and visual rendering, including Web fonts,” the company notes.
The new BOLT 1.6 comes around with a wide range of changed design enhancements, and with great improvements based on requests from
BOLT users, it seems. At the same time, it also comes with full socket-based connectivity for networks, a feature that should enable 15 percent faster web page rendering. In addition, the new flavor of the browser comes with a new password manager, the company notes.

The BOLT browser, Bitstream notes, has been downloaded more than 2.8 million times since its launch back in February this year, and has been also selected as the default browsing solution by makers around the world.
