Up until now, one could have argued that owning and driving an electric car was the best you could do to cut down on your carbon footprint, at least as far as getting about was concerned.

However, car manufacturer BMW recently announced that, thanks to a new collaboration with energy provider Green Mountain, its all-electric ActiveE models would soon be charged by their owners by means of renewable power sources.

More precisely, said energy company will provide those who purchase the ActiveE with energy generated using environmentally-friendly technologies, so that they can re-charge their cars in a green manner.

Regarding this partnership, Scott Hart from Green Mountain said that, “"BMW is a thought leader in electric vehicle innovation and their desire to ensure ActiveE drivers have the option to support renewable energy further demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainability.”

As far as we are concerned, this is good news indeed as the use of fossil fuels is bound to be altogether eliminated both when it comes to driving, and when it comes to charging the car.
