Even though enthusiastic buyers will still have to wait an entire year to park the new eco-friendly i3 vehicle launched by BMW in their garages, the automaker is wasting no time and is currently trying to attract a large segment of eco-conscious buyers.

Its praised “megacity vehicle” is expected to reach a top speed of 93 mph, come along with up to 100 miles range on a single charge and reveal design improvements, represented by a carbon-fiber plastic body. Apparently, the vehicle priced at $35,000 (€27,091) can be fully charged in only six hours, using a common electrical socket.

The i3 concept seeking to mark the beginning of a new era for eco-conscious individual mobility is one of the hottest topics on Facebook and Twitter and has now inspired a new interactive app created for smartphones.

All in all, the automaker wants to make sure that many customers will be eager to purchase the eco-friendly vehicle, whose production will start in 2013.
