The company expects this project to help it cut down on showroom costs

Working on the assumption that most EV customers are young people who pretty much know their way around a computer, BMW recently decided that no harm can come out of deciding to sell electric cars online.

True, this option will only be available for some models, but odds are that the company will be quite successful in cutting down on showroom costs.

However, the EV showroom just opened in London in bound to remain so, even if car prototypes and various information regarding the company's EVs will be the only things customers can find there.

Given the fact that BMW's i3 battery-powered city car and the i8 plug-in hybrid supercar are expected to hit the markets in 2013, we hope that this new project from said car manufacturer will be successful in convincing more people to opt for green driving, as this is crucial if we are to safeguard the environment.

However, we are quite reluctant as to whether or not the young generation, as young as it might be, will consider buying the car without first taking it out for a spin.
