Today, BMW Group Designworks USA and ADAIA announced a new partnership aimed at the launch of an Android smartphone that should provide users an enhanced experience on the go.

The new device is expected to land on shelves as a unique product, packing extreme ruggedness and seamless reception, as well as satellite-based life-saving functions, the duo unveiled.

As Autoevolution notes, BMW Group Designworks USA will be in charge of the handset’s outer design and interface, while ADAIA will take care of the technical aspect of the deal.

The upcoming smartphone is set to prove both a communication device and a personal lifeguard, allowing even those who climb on Mount Everest to send text messages via satellite, the two companies announced.

For the time being, however, no specific info on when the mobile phone will be launched has been provided.
