BLU Products, well-known for its affordable but reliable Android smartphones, has just announced the upcoming availability of the BLU Life Pure handset.

The smartphone will be available soon in Matte Black or Ceramic White Finish in the United States and Latin America for only $350 (€255) off contract.

According to BLU, the Life Pure is already in production and shipping to several distributors, dealers, and online retailers in the aforementioned regions.

Unlike any of the previous smartphones launched by BLU, the Life Pure sports a 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display with 441 ppi (pixel density) from JDI (Japan Display) and features a premium build quality.

This is the company’s first smartphone to pack a full HD display, but also the first to be made of a single piece of polycarbonate. It is also worth mentioning that the BLU Life Pure is only 7.7mm thick and weighs 128g (battery included).

Hardware-wise, the Life Pure comes equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor, a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone packs 32GB of internal memory, but does not seem to feature microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, BLU Life Pure boasts an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper “with advanced technologies and software such as second generation back-side illumination, anti-reflection coating, and a 5-element lens, resulting in amazing photos at any time.”

There’s also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front, which features full HD video imaging, auto beauty effects and additional settings.

Although BLU Life Pure is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, future updates might arrive via BLU’s over the air (OTA) Wireless Update Feature.

“The Life Pure as its name suggests is art in its purest form, created from a single piece polycarbonate using the latest CNC technology, then each individually hand crafted, resulting in beautifully designed hardware. When combined with equally stunning software, the final result is a device that should be appreciated as different and captivating to look at,” said Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of BLU Products.
