BIOSTAR Microtech has recently unveiled its latest TPower X58 motherboard based on Intel’s X58 chipset, providing support for Intel's latest Core i7 series processor family. As many of you already know, the Core i7 series comes with Hyper threading technology and QPI (Intel QuickPath Interconnect) Technology, while providing a great advantage through the point-to-point architecture. Moreover, the processors do not have to compete to access the bus bandwidth.

The new BIOSTAR TPower X58 is the company's top of the line motherboard model for the Intel platform. It offers a setting of 6.4GT/s for QPI along with flexible memory support options including up to 1600MHz native DDR3-1866MHz memory support. The new motherboard is based on the previous TPower Series Tech top features including 100 percent XDC (extreme durable capacitor), Space-Pipe Thermal Design, etc. Furthermore, BIOSTAR TPower X58 adds in 12 Phase power design and Green Power Utility function.

Another new function brought by the BIOSTAR TPower X58 is the company's Green Power Utility which offers more power efficiency through disabling extra phases while the CPU is on light loading. The motherboard features utilities that allow users to check on CPU and power information. They are also meant to provide balanced power saving and overclocking abilities.

The motherboard maker also included on its latest product Rapid Debug3, which is meant to show POST Code information in a digital LED display, comprising system errors and CPU temperature. The TPower X58 features a Space-pipe design which effectively directs heat from the chipsets to the heatsink near the back I/O ports. This fanless heat pipe design is able to lower temperature by up to 10°C compared to stock solutions.

The BIOSTAR TPower X58 comes equipped with triple PCI-E 2.0 (x16, x8, x4) interfaces, 12 USB 2.0 ports, two eSATA ports and IEEE 1394. In addition, it has 8+2 HD audio Channel, as well as support for different DDR3 frequencies, ranging from 1333 to1866 MHz.
