14 DAY TRIAL // Intel has made available another BIOS package for its DQ77CP and DQ77MK desktop boards, namely version 0064, which fixes an issue that didn’t allow booting to a specific drive from within the Visual BIOS.
The release consists of 4 separate files describing 3 different BIOS-related processes: one Recovery, one IFlash, and two Express BIOS-related packages.
To be clearer, the Recovery file is to be used for a BIOS recovery process in the event that the update is interrupted, and the IFlash zip package applies the new version regardless of the operating system.
The other 2 Express BIOS Update executables are Windows-based files compatible with Microsoft’s Windows XP, 7, and 8 platforms only, one file for each bit version.
The update-related packages also contain the 8.1.20.1336 ME firmware, the integrated graphics option ROM build 2137 PC 14.34, and the SATA RAID option ROM version 11.6.0.1702. In addition to that, Visual BIOS version 1.2.14 is also included in the release.
So, if this BIOS specifically resolves a problem encountered by your board, and you consider applying it, make sure that you don’t shut down or restart the computer while the installation is in progress. Doing so may crash the update, as well as render the board unstable.
