As mentioned in previous articles, the PC gaming industry is pretty much the place where you can search for the latest in hardware components and high-end computer systems. Companies go all out on releasing above mainstream products that are designed to provide users with the latest components on the market, consequently enabling a better gaming performance. On that note, BFG Technologies, one of the world's leading vendors of high-end graphics cards based on NVIDIA GPUs, has just announced the debut of its new Deimos X-10 gaming laptop. Designed to deliver a high
level of performance, the new system packs an 18.4-inch display and support for dual-SLI graphics.
“The Deimos X-10 SLI notebook is perfect for gamers and media enthusiasts who demand desktop performance but prefer the portability of a notebook,” said John Malley, senior director of marketing for BFG Technologies. “Deimos X-10 comes fully locked and loaded to deliver the ultimate HD mobile gaming and multimedia experience.”
At 18.4 inches, the Deimos X-10 could easily pass as a desktop replacement, providing end-users with the necessary performance to run any performance-hungry application that may be available for desktop PCs. The laptop seems to be a rebranded Clevo M980U and offers a choice for an Intel Core 2 Duo, Quad and Extreme processor, coupled with 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 dual GPUs and three HDD bays for up to 1.5TB of storage space. The laptop supports a screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.
Additional features include a 7-in-1 media card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and DVI ports, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2MP webcam and built-in subwoofer. Packed with Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system, the laptop comes bundled with a backpack, which should come in handy when trying to carry this behemoth to various LAN parties. Price-wise, you are looking at a system that has a starting price tag of US$1,859.
