14 DAY TRIAL // Although BlackBerry announced the Android version of BlackBerry Messenger will be the first to go live on Google Play Store, it looks like iOS users are the first to be able to download the popular instant messenger.
BBM for iOS has just went live for iOS users in New Zealand and will be available for the rest of the world at 12:01am your local timezone.
Even though BBM Channels, BBM Voice and BBM Video have not been included in this version of BlackBerry Messenger, the Canadian company confirmed these features will be available soon via update.
With BBM for iOS users will be able to create groups, share voice notes, photos and URLs, as well as broadcast a message to multiple BBM contacts at one time.
You can now download BBM for iOS for free via App Store. Keep in mind that the application is fully compatible with iPhones powered by iOS 6 or later.
UPDATE: BBM for iOS is now available for download in New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, India and UAE and is slowly rolling out to the rest of the countries. Check the App Store at 12:01am your local time zone to get it.
UPDATE1: There's already a workaround available that will allow iOS users to download and install BBM for iOS from anywhere in the world. Check it out here.
UPDATE2: BlackBerry has just announced it has paused the rollout of BBM for iOS due to the fact that it had too many users in the first hours. The application has been removed from AppStore temporarily, but those who already downloaded it will be able to continue to use it. Check out BlackBerry's official statement for more details.
