Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry has signed yet another deal for the distribution of its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on Android devices, this time with LG Electronics.

Today, the company has announced an agreement with the South Korean vendor for the loading of BBM on its Android-based smartphones, starting with the LG G Pro Lite.

The agreement includes both standard and virtual preloading (using the LG App Manager), the company has said, adding that BBM will continue to be available for download for free through Android app stores.

With BBM on their smartphones, users can enjoy a premier mobile communication service that offers features such as privacy, control, and immediacy when chatting with friends, either one-to-one or as part of a BBM Group.

The application comes with Delivered and Read statuses, along with message-in-progress notices, which were designed to keep people engaged and active in their conversations.

"BBM is widely used throughout the Middle East, Africa and Indonesia where smartphone users tend to engage heavily in social networking," said Kevin Shin, vice president of Marketing for Asia, the Middle East and CIS countries of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"The LG G Pro Lite offers an optimized BBM experience with its large, high quality display and embedded Stylus Pen."

Through BBM, users will also be able to share files, including photos and voice notices, and also to update profiles and statuses.

Moreover, the aforementioned BBM Group allows for up to 30 people to connect so as to chat and share files and documents such as photos, calendars, and more.

A unique PIN is tied to the BlackBerry ID of every BBM user, so that privacy is maintained. This also means that users won’t have to reveal their phone number or email address in order to start chatting with a new contact.

"People across the globe are using BBM to connect with each other and the enthusiasm has been phenomenal," said Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President for BBM at BlackBerry.

"We're extremely pleased that LG Electronics will help bring their customers a more seamless experience with BBM by preloading the app, starting with the G Pro Lite in key markets."
