Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) application, one that would provide users on various mobile platforms out there with a nice range of enhancements, it seems.

According to a recent post on CrackBerry, the next flavor of BBM will provide users with BBM Stickers, which are larger emoticons that can be used in Chats.

Basically, the update to the Messenger will provide users with access to BBM Shop, where BBM Stickers will be available for download, in packs. They will be available either for free, or with a price tag of $1.99 attached to them, it seems.

Next, the update will offer users access to Sponsored BBM Channels, though it appears that the sponsored content won’t influence users’ experience with BBM Channels in the end. However, users will be seeing additional posts and features from big brands, it seems.

Sponsored content will be delivered in the form of promotion channels, as well as in the form of sponsored posts that will appear within updates, and as sponsored invites.

Additionally, the application will allow users to send photos in multi-person chats, as well as to send files that are up to 16MB in size.

According to CrackBerry, the updated version of BBM is set to become available for download sometime next week, though no specific release date has been offered as of now.
