14 DAY TRIAL // Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has made available for download a new version of the BBM Music application for its users registered in the BlackBerry Beta Zone.
Available for download as version 1.2.0.13, the new flavor of BBM Music packs a variety of enhancements inside.
One of the new features included in the application affects Invitation Requests, offering users the possibility to have a look at songs when an invitation request is sent from a ‘friend of a friend’ through Recent Updates. Moreover, they will be able to view the common friend as well.
Additionally, the new flavor of the application provides users with the possibility to highlight songs or contacts as favorites.
All that people need to do to favorite a song is to click on the star displayed in the top left hand corner when listening to the song.
When the star is yellow, the song is a favorite and will appear in the list of “favorite songs” on user’s profile tab. Friends will see these favorite songs in Recent Updates.
To “favorite” a contact, users will need to go to that contact’s page and select “favorite” from the top menu bar. A highlighted yellow star will be displayed next to contact’s name.
Other changes in the new flavor of BBM Music include: Intelligent Shuffle - Intelligent shuffle offers you the ability to shuffle songs by favorite songs, genre, artist, song popularity, album, contact, release year or recently added. To access the intelligent shuffle, on the home tab click “shuffle” which will display the shuffle menu shown below.
A Default Friend for all New Users - New users to BBM Music will now have a default friend listed as a contact.
Application Enhancements - If you are an existing BBM Music user you will also notice improved notification for friends already using BBM Music, improved performance at startup and easier access to account information from the profile screen.
Today, all users living in the United States, Canada and the UK with access to the BlackBerry Beta Zone can find and download the new BBM Music 1.2.0.13 app on their devices.
