If you happen to be a Windows Phone and BBM user at the same time, then you will be pleased to know that a major update delivered to Android and iOS smartphones about a month ago has finally made it to Microsoft’s mobile platform.

For those who do not remember, BlackBerry released a new version of BBM for Android and iOS in late October, which brought in a few important privacy and control features like Timed Messages and Message Retraction.

Keep in mind though that the new features have only made it into the beta version of BBM for the moment, but we believe the stable iteration will be getting the update very soon as well if nothing wrong happens.

Aside from the two Snapchat-like features mentioned earlier, the latest version of BBM beta for Windows Phone brings Stickers, a great way to add more fun to chats with your friends.

According to developers, several sticker packs will be added to BBM for Windows Phone, but in beta version not all will be available. The good news is that BlackBerry offers a few of the packs listed for free, so BBM beta users can test them while chatting with their friends.

That being said, here are the sticker packs to be added to the stable version of BBM for Windows Phone: Gilbert’s Tale, CosCat, BBM Characters, BBM things you do, Say it with flowers, BBM Stickers.

The new features might be pushed to the stable version of BBM very soon

BBM has much more sticker packs up for grabs on both Android & iOS versions and the Windows Phone app will be getting them too, but aside from those listed above, all other sticker packs will show as “Unavailable” for the BBM beta users.

After updating BBM beta for Windows Phone, users will notice two new features will be available to them. The first one, Message Retraction, will allow them to “retract” a message to remove it from their BBM chat.

This comes in handy when you send a message to the wrong person or say something that you then regret and want to take it back.

Then there’s a Timed Messages option that provides BBM beta users with the possibility to set how long contacts have access to messages and pictures shared in a chat.

Last but not least, several fixes have been included in the updates as well, such as the BBM crashes when tapping on a profile on HTC devices. Some Nokia owners reported that BBM sometimes stuck on set-up screen, but this update is supposed to correct that and make the application faster to launch.

You can now download BBM beta for Windows Phone 2.0.0.14 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
