UK’s BBC iPlayer app has been promoted to version 2.0 this week. Supported natively on iPhones and iPads alike, BBC iPlayer 2.0 now allows TV aficionados to download their favorite shows and films and watch them offline, anywhere.

Media Applications Technologies Limited reveals that version 2.0 of the BBC iPlayer app for iDevices allows subscribers to download TV programs and keep them stored on the flash memory for up to 30 days.

“Take your favourite programmes with you, be it on the way to work, on a flight, or with the kids in the car,” says the developer. “So, what will you download first?”

You can answer that question in the comments, if you like.

Right now BBC iPlayer is a universal app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad that requires iOS 5.1 or later. Britain’s respected broadcasting agency is yet to order Media Applications Technologies Limited to code up a stretched UI for iPhone 5 owners.
