Seeing as how the so-called back-to-school season is up and running, promotions are, as expected, showing up, with B&N setting up one of its own, meant to encourage sales of its Nook e-reader.

Users that have been keeping track of the e-reader market will obviously know of the Nook from Barnes & Noble.

Though the past month did see the emergence of Panasonic's Hybrid E-Reader and another product from Binatone, Nook continues to extend its influence and will likely stay among the top of its kind, what with its maker's collection of digitized content backing it up.

Being one of the main representatives of the e-reader market, it has gone through several revisions over the years, among other things.

What happened to it now, though, was not some new hardware or software update, but the announcement that its maker is offering a content promotion.

Now that the back-to-school season has arrived and people are coming back from their vacations, B&N decided to give them an incentive.

Said incentive is worth $100 and is a collection of study guides and free books that buyers of the All-New Nook, Nook Color and even the first edition Nook will benefit from.

There are a pair of conditions that have to be fulfilled before one will be given leave to select the materials in question.

For one, the Nook purchase will have to be made until September 12, 2011 at the latest. The second will be to complete the B&N registration until October 31.

Once that has happened, an e-mail will be sent, which will contain $107.28 worth of Barnes & Noble digital content, subject to individual access codes. The selection is, unfortunately, limited to 12 classics.

As for other, free offers, various study guides can be acquired even without this package deal (like those from Spark Notes), though one won't be spared the chore of searching and downloading them individually.
