We have been hearing a lot of rumors that seemed to suggest that Barnes & Noble was about to give up on its Nook and Nook HD+ tablets. The company seemed to be on a rampage of aggressively axing down the prices of its Nook and Nook HD+ line in the UK.

These speculations were backed up by a financial report back in June that seemed to claim Barnes & Noble was going to pass on the brand to third-party manufacturers.

However Pocket-lint talked to Barnes & Noble MD, Jim Hilt and he assured them this was not the case.

“We intend to design, develop and build both products in the eReader and color tablet space. We’re committed to developing products in both of these categories. We think it’s critical to the innovation in digital reading – so you’ll see us innovate in both product categories.”

He then explained that B&N’s bold pricing strategy was meant to ensure Nook and Nook HD products would reach consumers everywhere in the UK.
