Barnes & Noble has been widely expected to roll out its next-gen eReader and the time has come for the company to show some signs that it actually intends to do so.

Now the next-gen Nook has showed up on the FCC website and goes by model number BNRV500. The filing attaches a drawing detailing the design of the eReader. We have to say it looks pretty similar to the current version, with the mention that the new device will feature 4GB of built-in-storage.

The current model sports 2GB of space that translates into the ability to store up to 1,000 eBooks. With their space, doubled users will be able to carry along their whole digital libraries wherever they go. It’s a bit too much if you ask us, but maybe B&N intends to allow users to store audiobooks, comic books and such.
