Last week, Anonymous hackers leaked 1.5 GB of files which they claimed to have stolen from the systems of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and IT (Mincom.gov.az). However, Azerbaijani officials deny the allegations.

The hackers say the files they’ve published contain information on corporations, government agencies and employees, including companies suspected of financing terror organizations.

“You will find gems like confidential manuals of GPS tracking devices, restricted reports and communications between various officials and of course the usual passport scans,” the hackers noted.

However, according to Trend.az, representatives of the Ministry of Communications and IT state that the letters and documents are fake.

After the hacktivists published the files, the ministry sent copies to the allegedly affected organizations to find out if they were legitimate.

Officials claim that the organizations and ministries they’ve contacted have confirmed that the files are not genuine.
