It's the end of an era, as Axl Rose, the famous rocker who's helped so many teenagers in their love life thanks to his rock ballads, is considering retiring from music and the stage. He has had a lengthy career that started back in 1985, in Los Angeles, when he formed famous rock bang Guns n' Roses.

His band would go on to write many successful chart-topping hits and have significant albums sales in order to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, but now it seems that it's all coming to an end.

Radar claims that Axl is hanging up his microphone, and he has plans to take down the entire band with him, as soon as their residency show in Las Vegas ends on June 7. “Band members have been told their calendars are free following Vegas,” claims one source.

“Axl is considering retiring and it’s done. Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work,” relates the same source from backstage of the tour.

These reports are completed by another one, from a different source, which fall in the same lines: “Axl has made enough money and wants to stop touring. He is considering retiring.” Axl is the only original member of the band left, after all of the other members, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Steven Adler, and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, left at some point over the years.

Axl went on to fill the slots with new members like bass player Tommy Stinson, keyboardist Dizzy Read, guitarist DJ Ashba, percussionist Frank Ferre, Chris Pitman on keyboards, and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal on rhythm guitar.

This report is to be taken with a grain of salt since it completely fails to address the issue of the tours the band has lined up this summer in South America and the States, which would indicate that Axl Rose has no intention whatsoever to retire himself or the band for that matter.

The current band has begun its Las Vegas residency on May 21 and will be playing a grand total of nine concerts at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino until June. After that, it has set up a tour of Latin America, which is going to take the members in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

Oh, and let's not forget that Guns n' Roses has hinted in the part that it is going to start working on a new album this year, which would be hard to do if the band had plans to split up.
