The latest patch for Ronimo Games' side-scrolling multiplayer title Awesomenauts packs in a new deadly combatant, Penny Fox.

Awesomenauts offers a type of multiplayer online battle arena experience similar to that of Dota 2 or League of Legends, only presented from a two-dimensional perspective, with a lot of platforming and fighting game elements.

Players choose one out of a list of mercenaries and then head into the arena, ready to dish out some pain. Every character has their own list of moves and way to get around the map, such as using double jumps or a jetpack, that dictates their role in the match.

The main goal is to farm creeps and get kills on enemy heroes, get upgrades and then proceed to eliminating the enemy team's solar generator before it does away with yours. After each match, players gain a certain amount of experience, based on whether they won or lost, on how experienced the enemy team was and some other similar factors.

Penny's main goal is to rid all the galaxy of evil, and as such she arms herself with a robotic claw and joins the Awesomenauts in the arena. She's a quick and deadly fighter, ready to pack some serious damage and outfox her opponents.

Awesomenauts is currently available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and was just launched on Sony's next-gen console, the PlayStation 4, in March.
