The development team at Ronimo Games announces on April Fools’ Day that it is working on a movie version of its Awesomauts, a game that mixes Multiplayer Online Battle Arena elements and more classic platforming.

Joost van Dongen, a co-founder of Ronimo Games, states, “Plans for an Awesomenauts movie have been in development since we started working on the game, and now that the game has reached such huge success, we have finally been able to break into Hollywood and get the production of the movie started!”

The style of the trailer that Ronimo delivers for the movie version of Awesomenauts is designed to copy the style and the tone of the upcoming Pacific Rim blockbuster that Guillermo del Toro is working on, although the mentioned director is G.G. Abrams.

Awesomenauts can be played on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC via Steam.
