As I was saying some 2 or 3 days ago in a recent article, the music world and industry is much into simulation and emulation these days. Lots of modules and expansions are available from more and more producers, business alliances form and break apart but the software remains and has never ceased to be constantly developing. From the early days of the PC music and their beeps and ticks up to today's complex and complete sample banks, the music industry has walked a very long road: back in the Basic days we had instructions like "SOUND x,y,z" and today we have entire brass ensembles at our fingertips, one click away. Modulators and harmonizers, arpeggiators and the like, they all are comprised in software utilities which are getting easier to use by the day and more people have lately gained access to composing all sorts of music.

Well, IK Multimedia is by far one of the major software producers to work in and with sound professionally and since their birth as a company, a lot of first-class programs have become well-known throughout the world; names like Amplitube/ Amplitube Live, T-Racks or SampleTank are to be seen in many pro studios and a lot of major musicians have used at least one of the IK Multimedia products in their career. The company has been working for many years on a very comprehensive piece of code for orchestral purposes, a truly magnificent tool for both enthusiasts, semi-pros and especially for the professionals, the Miroslav Orchestra.

At this year's winter NAMM, the Miroslav Orchestra Classik Edition software have been awarded by the notorious Mac-related magazine, Macsimum News, along with other Apple-oriented applications. The IK Multimedia Miroslav Orchestra CE supports RTAS, AU, VST and DXi plugins thus being easy to integrate in almost any platform and fit for almost everybody, no matter what might he/she be used to working with. Benefiting from 256-notes polyphony and 4 separate inserts/master/ends and with 16 part multitimbral sample-based orchestral workstation, the Miroslav Orchestra will definitely set your mind and imagination in motion.

Miroslav Orchestra is one of the flagships at IK Multimedia: it's not only one of the largest projects but the way it came to life and "what's inside" makes of it a really moving endeavor. About 7 GB of choirs and 1.300 instruments are comprised in the IK Philharmonic and about 1.2 GB and 250 items in the sound library for the Classik Edition! The software contains inspiring and multiple award-winning parts recorded with the help of the legendary Miroslav Vitous and in a dream location - the Dvorak Symphony Hall in Prague, world-renowned as being one of the best sounding concert halls on the planet; well, the brass, strings and woodwinds have all been recorded there just to make sure that IK Multimedia's Miroslav Orchestra has the most natural sounding space possible. And they made it!
