Avril Lavigne’s Marriage in Trouble Because of Her Drinking

They’ve been married for a little less than three years, but the first cracks in the relationship of Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley have already started showing. It’s not another woman, or another man that’s to blame for the way things are with the two singers’ marriage, reports have it, but Avril’s drinking too much, which enrages Deryck to the maximum.

According to a report on GateCrasher, just recently, the two had a massive row right in a club in L.A. Avril was not only downing one vodka shot after another, but she was also making a point of not paying attention to Deryck the entire night, it has been said. If true, this would not be the first time that rumors about their marriage being on the rocks emerge.

“Avril Lavigne can party like a rock star. The Canadian singer was ‘getting bombed’ at MyHouse in L.A. last weekend, says a spy.” the aforementioned report reads. “She kept downing vodka drinks, to the point where she was obliterated. She ended up fighting with her husband [Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 fame] before ignoring him completely.” a spy reveals for the e-zine.

According to the same insider, ignoring her husband was not all that Avril did that night, since she also wanted him to see pretty clear that she was not paying any attention to him by engaging in conversation with everyone else. “'Avril talked to everyone else,' says the spy, as Deryck sat gloomy on a couch. “When he was ready to leave, she downed two more shots of vodka before walking out the door. What a child!” the spy further explains.

Avril Lavigne and punk rocker Deryck Whibley began dating way back, in February 2004. They became engaged one year later, in June 2005, when Deryck popped the big question on a surprise trip to romantic Venice. In July 2006, they were married in California, in a ceremony that made local and international headlines.

So far, a publicist for Avril Lavigne has refused to comment on the latest rumors regarding her marriage.
