A little over a year after ending her marriage to Deryck Whibley, Avril Lavigne may be ready for the plunge again. She and her current beau, Brody Jenner, whom she’s been dating for a year, are engaged, a new report suggests.
Lavigne and Jenner tried to avoid grabbing headlines with their romance in the first months of dating but, just recently, they’ve been more open about how they feel for each other.
This could also explain the recent proposal, the latest print issue of Star magazine (story via
here) seems to believe.
According to a well-placed and unnamed spy, Jenner proposed
to Avril at the beginning of last month, as she let one of her friends know in one of her most recent e-mails.
A wedding date hasn’t yet been set, the report seems to suggest, with word online saying that the two will probably wait some more before coming out with the engagement announcement.
“On Feb. 9, during the duo’s whirlwind trip to Europe, the divorced singer, 26, e-mailed a bandmate a picture of her left hand with what appears to be an engagement ring on it – with the subject line ‘ha ha’,” Star writes.
“And insiders tell Star that Brody, 27, did indeed pop the question to his girlfriend of about a year,” the weekly further says.
As they put it, this is exactly something that Avril would do if she got engaged again.
“Avril has hinted to pals that she thought Brody was planning a big surprise during their trip to France. It’s just her style to be coy rather than coming out with an announcement right away,” says a spy.
A rep for the couple has yet to address this rumor in any way. If the report is accurate and Avril and Brody will be walking down the aisle, this would be her second marriage.
In September 2009, the singer
announced she and her husband of 3 years Deryck Whibley had separated. She started dating Jenner a few months after that.
