While a few nights ago, the punk rocker showed the world what rock'n'roll really means by launching two spitting projectiles towards two paparazzi and hitting them both, today she felt too much remorse to live with and apologized... to her fans, not to the assaulted photographers.
Avril Lavigne has never been a people's person and, until now, she played nice to the press only when she needed it. But, as she was leaving the hotspot Hyde Club, she was so annoyed by the press representatives that kept bugging her with questions about the new album and the new life as a married woman, that she started hurling insults at them and then literally spat two paps from the celebrity agency TMZ.
Not a long time passed, in which the Internet was all over the story, saying that she could be liable for a $2,000 fine and/or six months in jail, as spitting at someone is considered assault in the US, and the rebellious rocker apologized.
In a post on her official website, Avril said: 'I'd like to sincerely apologize for my behavior with the Paparazzi. It's trying at best dealing with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offense to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans. My behavior was a reaction to the persistent attack of the paparazzi'. Note: she did not apologize to the two men she spat and who, as intrusive as they might have been (and they are that, and more) were only doing their job.

On the other hand, her better half, rocker Deryck Whibley has the same means to defend himself against the press: his almighty spit. A night after Avril did her stuff, he also spat at a photographer, at the opening of Area in Los Angeles. And, again, TMZ has it all on tape and the assaulted paparazzo is planning to file charges against him.
