Avril Lavigne Has Been Suffering from Mysterious Illness, Wants Fans to Pray for Her

Avril Lavigne hasn’t been seen in public for almost 2 months. This isn’t necessarily very strange of her, because she usually likes to fly under the radar unless she’s promoting a new project, but it is strange if you also consider she’s been radio silent on social media for just as long.

Thanks to a group of worried fans, the rest of them know now that their favorite pop rock singer has not been well and that, by the looks of it, she’s still struggling with some health issues.

Avril herself has confirmed this in a private exchange of messages that was then posted on Twitter. She didn’t say what was wrong with her, but the consensus is that it sounds pretty serious.

“Please keep me in your prayers”

An Avril fangroup going by the Twitter handle @AvrilMusicChart posted what looks like a series of DMs between them and the singer, in which she admits that the reason she hasn’t been staying in touch with the fans, as she usually does, is because she’s been ill.

Again, she doesn’t specify the nature of the mysterious illness (and neither would her publicist when asked to comment by several media outlets), but see for yourself if it doesn’t sound like she’s in bad shape.

“I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I’ve been absent. I’m torn as I’m quite private…. I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers,” Avril wrote.

Had this been something minor or that had already passed, she would not have asked for prayers from fans, because the worst would have passed already.

Health issues and divorce rumors

As if this weren’t bad enough, Avril is also going through a reported marriage crisis, only 14 months after tying the knot in a French castle.

She and Nickleback singer Chad Kroeger were married shortly after they started dating, with Chad proposing to her (with a giant diamond ring!) long before his mom even got the chance to meet her. So when she did meet Avril, she was already in route to becoming her daughter-in-law.

Shortly after their first wedding anniversary, rumors started making the rounds that things weren’t as happy at home as they appeared to be on a red carpet or in media interviews. No one knew what made the relationship not work anymore, but everyone agreed that divorce was around the corner.

These reports picked up considerable speed in August, when Avril celebrated her 30^th birthday in Las Vegas with just her girlfriends – and no Chad in sight. She wasn’t wearing her wedding ring either, just like he wasn’t when he was photographed out and about a few days later.

Chad did his best to shoot down these rumors a short while ago, but they came back up with Avril’s confirmation that she’s not well, even though there’s no established connection between the two just yet.
